Bag of Chips stalls suspect long enough for Regina police
A suspect in a knife incident was arrested in Regina when he was waylaid by a bag of chips.
Regina police were called around 5 a.m. Friday to the 2100 block of Broad Street by a caller who reported he had been chased in the parking lot of a business by someone carrying a knife.
The victim ran into the business to call police.
When officers arrived and viewed video surveillance, they identified a suspect on the footage. As the officers were leaving the business, they spotted the suspect in line at the store to buy a bag of chips.
The suspect was promptly arrested.
An 18-year-old man is facing charges of carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, and assault with a weapon.
